Forces of evil were hard at work last night. It all started when i woke up with a bad hangover from night before. There was just a broken train, a cab, a stolen ticket, then Domski, then rain and traffic that stood between us and our mission. I knew today was going to be an especially hard day for all of us, but we live for moments like these. We breath them and we feed on their energy, we chew them up and then we spit them out. Moments like these define who we are and what we stand for. Yes i knew we were going to win this game. I knew this 3 months ago when i was talking to Peter at Foley’s. I told him, “Peter, i understand that you are a Penguins game virgin. However, October 3rd you got a date! You are gonna get some on October 3rd, baby! You are finally getting laid!” Now, i might not know much about getting laid, being on a date, or even hockey. I do have a refined sense of predicting the future thanks to my great grandma who was named Zhenya in honor of the great Geno Malkin. ( *WARNING* if you are wearing a hat take it off before reading the next sentence) Rest in peace grandma i will always love you.

THE CURSE HAS BEEN BROKEN! Peter walks tall, a free man once again. He did it for the Pens! Look at how happy he is celebrating after the game! I drink a whole bottle of vodka to you Peter!

Now about the game i dont remember much of it because of course there was lots of beer going on but here are a few things i do remember …

I clearly recall Islanders Ice Girl … i recall yelling “After you clean the ice make me a sandwich!” I must have been really hungry.

I recall lots of Penguin fans behind me screaming Stanley Cup! I wonder how much longer we can use that as a chant? Time to get over it guys!

I recall 3 obnoxious fat gay guys sitting in front of me and Tec, who were totally flaming, not that we had a problem with that. We had a problem with them not knowing anything about hockey. They were screaming “IT IS OVER!” at the end of the second period. We were like dudes its not over yet there is another period coming. We totally called one guy out when he accidentally cheered for Penguins clearing the puck because he had no clue what was going on. So I tapped him on his shoulder told him its ok I know your first hockey game. He didn’t make a single sound after that comment and pretty much didn’t move at all. Weird.

I recall Jim Shearer of Yinz Luv ‘Da Guins and his wife were in the house …

I recall MothFullOfTang and meeting her mom wearing Malkin shirt!

I recall standing outside of the parking lot after the game and some grief-killed islander fan driving by in his car yelled out “How about your baseball team?!” Yeah you got us there man! Good job! Go write a blog about it!
