Nobody makes me bleed my own blood!

We all know that most successful teams in NHL actually know how to play as a team. Something Ovie needs to learn. We also know that if you play as a team on and off the ice then you win Stanley Cups. Something Hossa needs to learn. We also know that there are teams in NHL that shouldn’t even exist. Something Philly needs to learn. Ready for the best part of the story? Playing as a team involves a lot of ass kicking and or getting your ass kicked!

Nobody makes me bleed my own blood! Nobody!

With that introduction i’d like to officially invite Mike Rupp and Jay McKee to join our l33t ranks. I also want to tell them, “You guys come with the right attitude!” Here in Pittsburgh we are better than you … and we know it! Wait. What? I wouldn’t even know i live in NY. However, if you think you can push us around then … well … a picture is worth a thousand word … a video probably a million …

As you can see from the replay that starts at 1:08 of the video Witt put a pretty clean hit on Tenk. Followed by Geno’s retaliation, who was the first to put a sweet daddy smack back on Witt. Pascal Dupuis was second to shove his glove into Witts face. “Say hello to my stinky little friend!” – Ace. Didn’t take McKee too long to figure out how to drop his gloves. A glorious move, called by the Pensblog due to McKee’s absence of (how should i put this softly?) … ohh yeah … ASS KICKING … during the 2009 playoffs. McKee gets 10 min misconduct penalty (not game misconduct penalty) plus Geno already had interference call before the fight. 5 on 3 and as the sweet Candyman puts it … ”You don’t want to end up down two men for that long. Against a lot of teams, that’s pretty much an automatic goal.” Some might say that McKee shouldn’t have dropped the gloves and taken a stupid penalty. However, I agree with Josh Yohe, Daily News Staff Writer (pittsburghlive.com) developing team toughness might be viewed as more important than allowing a 5-on-3 power play in October.

Michael Rupp insisted he wasn’t going out of his way to earn his new teammates’ respect, but was just doing his job. “That’s part of hockey, and I’ve never been one to shy away from that kind of stuff,” he said. “It’s just part of my game.” This basically sets the tone for how new guys feel about Penguins. “That kind of stuff doesn’t go unnoticed, that’s for sure,” Orpik said. “Especially for new guys to do that, it’s a good indication they’re good teammates.” Keep up the good spirit guys!
