Introducting PensHead Daily Links!

Saturday, October 2nd, 2010

Apparently the Earth has made a complete orbit cycle around the Sun since the first post on PensHead.com! Thanks to @keysandparrots for bringing this up to our attention. With that in mind we have been working hard to improve our service to you despite the degradation of time allowed for making posts. So without further ado i’d like to introduce new feature that will be available here starting tomorrow … “PensHead Daily Links”! WOOOO!

Try to restrain your excitement and enthusiasm so i can explain further. This blog originally started as a way for me to avoid spamming peoples Facebook newsfeed with absurd amount of Penguins links i was reading.  So idea was to consolidate all of them into a single post which would be available here.

So it came and went. Our day would start the same way … googling and checking and compiling and posting. Most of the time we would do the same thing over and over and over and over again everyday. Until a year later we got smartz and decided to use our programming skills to automate this process. This automated process of compiling Pittsburgh Penguins news/pics/videos is what “PensHead Daily Links” is all about. At the current time we have about 13 different sources from which we will be compiling daily lists of links. However, this will be ongoing process and things will be added and removed as we see fit. If you think you have a source that should be included well then go ahead and shoot us an email or hit us up on twitter. Of course when i use words like “we” “us” “our” i mostly mean myself but what the hell it sounds more professional.

We see this new feature as a way to save some time in researching more juicy stories for y’all.

Worry not our brothers and sister our love for Geno will still be regularly expressed on this blog. To prove this point i am going to post some awesome pics that Nona found and posed on EMGFF.

Actually lets rewind this back a bit … it all started with Alyonka Larionov’s Video Diary #23 …

Dont be shy go ahead and fast forward to about 3:30 where she talks about NYC Russian restaurant named Mari Vanna. Apparently both Geno and Ovi were there at the same time to celebrate Ovi’s bday or something. Someone was smart enough (not me) to look at Mari Vanna’s facebook page and get some pics from when this took place.

Seems that Geno didnt feel like hanging out with Ovi too much.

We dont blame him, i mean who wants to hangout with someone looking like this …

Well apparently Mari Vanna’s facebook account had more pictures of Geno. Not only Geno but also Sergei Gonchar when they were cooking some salad looking things a while back. The pictures aren’t dated but facebook description says they were posted about 7 month ago … who knows?! *shrug*

Anyway there are a bunch of pics so i am just putting them into a slideshow here … enjoy!

The Redemption Day Is At Hand! Goodbye Alyonka!

Friday, January 8th, 2010

Quite frankly i didn’t make a post yesterday not because i had nothing to say but rather i didn’t want to delusion you into thinking the Pens were going to win last night. I simply didn’t think they were ready for a big come back just yet. Prior to the game i checked the star and planet alignment that simply did not favor the Pens.  No amount of Crush Orange soda could have saved the Pens. However, worry not my brothers and sisters because i do have some good news. The Redemption Day Is At Hand!

I fell asleep and suddenly found myself surrounded by muddy waters. You know that feeling you get when you wake up in the morning and trying to recollect things you did and said last night? Well if you don’t then i got plenty for both of us but i am not about to share those with you. All of us can learn from our mistakes the trick is not to dwell on it for too long. This is exactly what Pens need to do. They know they haven’t been playing well and maybe lady luck was just not on the right side of the goal post but every nightmare must come to an end. This is where i come in to help you recognize the signs of upcoming salvation.

You know sometimes you just walk out your door gaze at the sky and all the signs are there. When you can no longer ignore them well then just learn embrace them. When Dad stares at you from the Heavens above you know something good is going to happen.

We all know how superstitious Sidney Crosby is and well for quite sometime he was not a happy player. However, last night a miracle occurred! In his frustration Sid ran into the locker room during the game to look for his lucky rabbits foot. To our excitement he finally found it in front of the Flyers net (aka as defenseman Kimmo Timonen’s foot), just in time for the 10 day road trip! There is no stopping him now.

Evgeni Malkin … Geno, Geno, Geno … what are we going to do with you? Well the good news is that Женя doesn’t deny his mistakes and poor performance. First step in helping yourself is admitting you have a problem. He is definitely not in denial! Once again the good news is that Geno’s Holidayitis is supposed to be over today, Jan 8th! Geno has meditated on his recent performance and saw his talent’s true reflection. He is ready to hit the road Jack!

While Sid was busy looking for his lucky rabbits foot … Sergei Gonchar was busy looking for his regular foot. It appears as he finally found it and will be ready for Saturday’s game. It seems like a lot of slumps Pens go through is when Sarge is out with an injury.

Kris Letang was playing like he doesn’t want to get traded. Some big hits and an assist last night from him.

Everything and everyone seem to be in place for the big come back on the road … except well for Alyonka Larionov … we will miss her. However, her decision will likely not affect the Penguins in any way since she doesn’t lace up much.

THE REDEMPTION DAY IS COMING ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 9TH!

LETS GO PENS!!!
