RECAP: MacArthur’s Court. PENS LOSE. Source: The Pensblog
@tradeneal Guaranteed if you know a guy named Clarke, he's an asshole. He probably borrows money and doesn't pay you back. He probably doesn't turn off his high beams when he sees you approaching from the other direction. Clarke MacArthur is no different probably. MacArthur scored the game-winner and only goal of the game right after James Neal deflected a puck off the crossbar. The Pens were lucky to pull one out two nights ago, so we can't get greedy. If you're looking for something to take from this game, it's Brent Johnson's performance. Nice to see him back to his usual form after his extended stint on the bench … Read the rest here

RECAP: Living Young, Wild, and Malkin. PENS WIN. Source: The Pensblog
With all the Crosby shit over All Star Weekend and then a semi-impromptu Crosby press conference with the Canadian media in town, the Pens fan base wanted nothing more than for the team to get back to playing some hockey. And so they did. And it didn't look good at all. The game didn't even feel close, and the Pens (and especially Fleury ) were doing just enough to keep Toronto in their sights. Then 6 minutes into the third, the Leafs scored 2 goals in 19 seconds to make it 4-1. Things were bad. Steigerwald and Errey were already talking about how Kessel “had to pay” for something. Then 2 minutes after the Leafs went up 4-1, some Leaf made a bizarre mistake and Sullivan had a highway down the right wing. He decided to blast one past the Monster to make it 4-2. The crowd was back into it. There was still unlimited time left. @DerickWoodard21 The refs forgot they weren't allowed to call penalties on the Leafs, and the Pens got a huge PP. They didn't score on it but gained momentum. Fifth Avenue Joe was determined to bring the Pens even closer and made it 4-3 with 5 minutes left. Then Malkin tied it with 6.6 seconds left with a deflection off the “A” on his chest. After an insane overtime, Malkin scored in the shootout and no clue what Phil Kessel was doing. The shootout win capped off one of the best Pens comebacks in recent memory … Follow this link

Portland Winterhawks Crush the Seattle Thunderbirds on Teddy Bear Toss Night Source: Bleacher Report
The Portland Winterhawks crushed their arch-rivals the Seattle Thunderbirds en route to a 7-1 victory, and their ninth straight win, Saturday at the Rose Garden in Portland, Ore. With 2:52 clicked off the clock, Thunderbirds (11-14-0-1) goalie Calvin Pickard could not keep Rattie’s puck in play as he watched it fly into his net and, with the blink of the eye, so did 10,000-plus stuffed animals … View post

RECAP: Don’t Call It A Comeback. ‘Cause It Wasn’t. PENS LOSE. Source: The Pensblog
The Pens were down 3-0 after two periods of play. It wasn't for lack of trying. Cam Ward let Malkin know this wasn't the 2009 Conference Finals. The Canes, meanwhile, were scratching goals onto the board. Jeff Skinner was everywhere. The Canes had lost 4 straight games, and three of those games saw the Canes have abysmal third periods that cost them wins. And it happened again in this one. But the hockey gods decided the Canes were due for a win. And that game-winning goal came on a play where Malkin was forced to play big in front of Johnson, but he was dog-tired, and Eric Staal put in some goal … Continue reading here
